Someone far less cynical than I once said "getting there is half the fun." For our fearless leader Mark (a.k.a. MKS or mark.i.is as he known on the street) these words seemed tough to utter at the outset. Having requested a window seat Mark was dismayed to find his seat number matched an aisle seat. As luck would have it that aisle seat was next to the only baby on our flight. Matters were made worse when the baby chain smoked the entire way to New Orleans. But as you can see Mark took it in stride and managed a smile before tearing the arms off the baby's doll.
KIDDING! Mark closed his eyes and meditated the entire flight. I'm certain he was meditating because his mantra sounds just like snoring. No worries there.
The way Mark handled this situation only inspired me to honor my personal commitment to NOT COMPLAIN on this trip. I decided before we left that no matter what this week had in store for me I would do my best to take it in stride. My life is very blessed. And my blessings are made all the more precious by bearing witness to the destruction this town has endured.
